Day 1
Morning / Early Afternoon
- Explore Balboa Park
- Wander the grounds and gardens
- Spend time at the Mingei International Museum which focuses on folk art, craft, and design from around the world
Late Afternoon
- Head to Old Town San Diego
- Take photos
- Browse for a small souvenir
- Walk through the historic streets and shops ( I found it boring but I can see how it would be appealing and it’s a pretty area for taking a walk too!)
Early Evening
- Visit Verbatim Books, a cozy indie bookstore often described as a “meet-cute” spot
- Stop by Lovesong Coffee, located right next to the bookstore, for a drink or small treat
Evening
- Pick a chill dinner place close to your lodging or even get take out and sleep in.
Day 2
Morning
- La Jolla has so many cafe’s …try one or two.
Late Morning
- Head to La Jolla Cove / La Jolla Sunset Beach
- Walk along the coast
- Watch for seals lounging on the rocks
- Visit the San Diego Sea Arch (free coastal viewpoint)
Midday
- Explore Sunny Jim’s Sea Cave
- Visit the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCASD) – La Jolla
Afternoon
- Lunch or café stop nearby
- Take time to rest or walk along the coastline
Evening
- Visit Sunset Cliffs Natural Park
- Ideal for golden hour and ocean views
- One of the best sunset spots in San Diego
Dinner
- In-N-Out Burger
- A classic Southern California stop if you want something quick and iconic
